He has good stop-start ability, as well as a good ability to bend around the corner. Armstrong has to prove he can maintain his bend as he gets into his sets, as he lacks consistent bend off the snap and has short arms. He has a burst of speed in transition, but needs to develop more pass-rushing moves to go along with his pass-rushing skill set.

The player was on the Iowa State football team from 2011 to 2016. While there, he was a defensive end and a safety for the Cyclones.
