On January 2, 1967, Maybin’s and Scott’s sacrifice paid off. Ross was able to sell the team to Bill Parcells. It wasn’t long until the Dolphins had won their first championship in their first season under the ownership of Parcells. That season, the Dolphins achieved an amazing 11-3 record.
