The Buccaneers joined the NFL in 1976 along with the Seattle Seahawks after the two teams were granted expansion franchises. After the season, the club switched to a look that was inspired by the naval aviators and pilots from nearby MacDill Air Force Base. The current uniform design features pewter-colored jerseys, white pants, and either black or white helmets. The team’s uniforms have once again undergone a complete overhaul, which were unveiled on April 3, 2013 at an event at Raymond James Stadium attended by over 10,000 fans.
